The best restaurants in Dubai in 2026 are decided by two lists, and we cross-checked both for you. The Michelin Guide Dubai 2026, announced on 7 October 2026, gave stars to 20 restaurants across 38 cuisines. MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 placed 20 Dubai names on its ranking. Our verdict: only 7 restaurants appear on both lists, and that overlap is where to book first.
Dubai’s top dining scene moves fast. Every new guide brings fresh stars, promotions and a few surprises. This post names the 7 restaurants on both 2026 award lists, flags the 4 starred ones that are currently closed, and shows the value picks on the Bib Gourmand list, so you get the complete picture of the best restaurants in Dubai. If you are planning a trip around these dinners, start with our Dubai travel guide to pair them with your itinerary.
Seven restaurants hold Michelin stars and a MENA’s 50 Best 2026 ranking. That double win is the strongest signal in the city. Here they are, with one line on why each earned its place.

Two restaurants earned their first Michelin stars this year, joining the ranks of the best restaurants in Dubai, and one familiar name moved up. Birch in DIFC, led by chef Arslan Berdiev, won a star for its contemporary, produce-driven cooking with tasting and à la carte menus. KIGO at the Four Seasons DIFC earned its star for seasonal Japanese cooking, with sushi omakase at the counter and kaiseki menus at the tables.
The biggest headline belongs to Orfali Bros, promoted from one star to two. Michelin credits the brothers’ Aleppian, Armenian and Turkish heritage and the growing refinement of their cooking. Two years after its first star, the Wasl 51 bistro turned flagship is now among the top-rated new names in the best restaurants in Dubai.
Here is the booking truth other guides bury. Four Michelin-starred restaurants are currently closed while keeping their stars: Al Muntaha, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Ossiano and Smoked Room. Michelin says it is fully aware of the closures, is in close contact with the teams, and will re-evaluate each restaurant once it reopens.
At least 10 venues across the guide’s various lists are affected, so this is not a one-off. The practical takeaway: never book a tasting menu at a Michelin star restaurant in Dubai without confirming it is operating right now. Call the restaurant or check its own website the week you plan to go. Reopening dates are not confirmed, and any list that presents these four as bookable is out of date.

The Bib Gourmand list is Michelin’s answer to the money question. It marks restaurants with great food at great value, and it is the best place to start if a starred tasting menu is beyond your budget. The 2026 list has 22 restaurants, with four new entries: Middle Child, S.E.A. Bistrot, Three Bros and YUBI Dubai.
Names to know include 3Fils, Kinoya, Bait Maryam, Berenjak, Sufret Maryam and 21 Grams. Several also appear on MENA’s 50 Best, including 3Fils, Kinoya, Sufret Maryam and Three Bros, which means the value picks among the best restaurants in Dubai are not a consolation prize. It is where inspectors and voters agree the city eats well for less. For daytime value, our best brunches in Dubai guide covers the other end of the day.

Most of the best restaurants in Dubai take bookings directly through their own websites or through their hotels. Many of the starred rooms sit inside hotels, so if you are still choosing where to sleep, our where to stay in Dubai guide helps you match your hotel to your dinner plans.
Book as early as you can, especially for weekend tasting menus. If your first choice is full, ask about the counter: several top rooms, including Row on 45 and KIGO, serve their best experiences there. And before you lock a date, confirm the restaurant is actually open, as the closed-star situation shows. Plan the rest of your evening with our things to do in Dubai list, or browse Visit Dubai’s dining pages for more options.
Both lists are useful, but they measure different things. The Michelin Guide Dubai 2026 uses anonymous inspectors and one global standard. It is slow to change and conservative about new names. MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026, published in February 2026, uses a voting academy of chefs, writers and diners. The full starred selection is published on the official Michelin Guide. It moves faster and spots trends first: Kinoya was named the best restaurant in the UAE at No.2 without holding a Michelin star.
Our comparison verdict for fine dining in Dubai: Michelin tells you where the kitchen is proven, MENA’s 50 Best tells you where the scene is heading. When the two lists disagree, start with the overlap of 7 above, then explore the 50 Best for names the inspectors have not caught yet. When two award lists rank the best restaurants in Dubai differently, that gap is your discovery list.
Two: FZN by Björn Frantzén and Trèsind Studio, both retained their three stars in the 2026 guide. No restaurant in Dubai holds more. Both sit at the top of the best restaurants in Dubai conversation for anniversary and celebration dinners.
Twenty Dubai restaurants made the February 2026 ranking of the best restaurants in Dubai. Kinoya took No.2 and the Best Restaurant in the UAE title, followed by Trèsind Studio at No.3, Orfali Bros at No.4, Sufret Maryam at No.7, Jun’s at No.8, Manāo at No.9 and Moonrise at No.10.
Four starred restaurants are currently closed: Al Muntaha, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Ossiano and Smoked Room. Michelin says it is monitoring them and will re-evaluate after they reopen. Check the restaurant’s own website or call before booking any starred room in Dubai right now.
We do not publish tasting-menu prices for the best restaurants in Dubai that we cannot verify, and none were available in the official 2026 announcements. They change often and most restaurants quote them on their own booking pages. If budget matters, start with the Bib Gourmand list, which is Michelin’s own value tier, and confirm prices on the restaurant’s official website before booking.
Our answer, from cross-checking both 2026 lists: pick from the 7 that appear on both the Michelin star list and MENA’s 50 Best. For one name, Trèsind Studio pairs 3 Michelin stars with a No.3 MENA ranking. That double win is why it tops our shortlist of the best restaurants in Dubai for 2026.
