Can tourists use cash on Dubai Metro in 2026?

No, Tourists need a Nol card or valid Nol ticket to use Dubai Metro. Cash cannot be used to pay at the Metro gate. Occasional travellers can use a Red Ticket, while a Silver Nol card is usually more practical for multiple journeys.

Dubai’s cooler winter season is generally better for beaches, neighbourhood walks, desert activities and outdoor attractions. Summer can still work well for indoor attractions, shopping and hotel stays, but visitors should plan around the heat and check current weather before travelling.

Four to five days is a practical starting point for a first visit. That gives most travellers time for Downtown Dubai, the coast, an older neighbourhood, a desert experience and one flexible day. A three-day trip can cover major highlights, while a full week allows a slower pace.

Downtown Dubai suits visitors who want major landmarks nearby. Dubai Marina and JBR work well for beaches and waterfront activities, while Bur Dubai and Deira provide easier access to heritage areas and traditional markets. Choose based on your itinerary, budget and nearest Metro connection.

Visa requirements depend on nationality, passport type, trip purpose and length of stay. Some visitors may qualify for visa-free entry or a visa on arrival, while others must apply before travelling. Confirm your eligibility through the UAE Government, ICP or GDRFA before booking.
