Entry to the Dubai Mall is free, and shops open daily at 10am. The costs start after that: parking is AED 20 to AED 100 once the free hours end, Dubai Aquarium tickets start at AED 199, and the Burj Khalifa ticket entrance sits inside on the Lower Ground floor. This guide covers the real hours, the parking fee table, attraction prices and three sample budgets.
The Dubai Mall is a retail and entertainment complex in Downtown Dubai with more than 1,200 shops and 200 restaurants, standing next to the Burj Khalifa. It drew over 111 million visitors in 2024, which makes it one of the most visited places on earth. This post gives you the planning facts: hours, parking, tickets, transport and rules. For the fun part, read our guide to things to do in Dubai Mall.
| Detail | 2026 information |
|---|---|
| Entry | Free |
| Shop hours | Monday to Thursday 10am to 11pm; Friday to Sunday 10am to midnight |
| Restaurant hours | Monday to Thursday 10am to midnight; Friday to Sunday 10am to 1am |
| Parking | 13,000+ spaces. Grand, Cinema and Fashion zones are paid: first 4 hours free Monday to Thursday, first 6 hours free Friday to Sunday. Zabeel and Fountain Views stay free. |
| Nearest metro | Red Line, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, via the air-conditioned Metro Link Bridge |
| Dubai Aquarium from | AED 199 (Silver); UAE residents AED 169 |
| Time needed | 3 to 4 hours for a visit; a full day with attractions |
Shops at the mall open at 10am every day. Monday to Thursday they close at 11pm, and Friday to Sunday at midnight. Restaurants run later, to midnight on weeknights and 1am on weekends, and some cafes serve breakfast from 9am on weekends.
Hours can change during Ramadan and public holidays, so check the official mall website before you go on those dates. The big attractions keep their own schedules: the Dubai Mall aquarium opens 11am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 9pm on weekends, with last entry at 8:15pm.
Parking at the mall is no longer free. Since 1 July 2024 the Grand, Cinema and Fashion zones use plate recognition, and fees are deducted from your Salik account. The first 4 hours are free Monday to Thursday and the first 6 hours are free Friday to Sunday.
| Stay length | Monday to Thursday | Friday to Sunday |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 4 hours | Free | Free |
| 4 to 5 hours | AED 20 | Free |
| 5 to 6 hours | AED 60 | Free |
| 6 to 7 hours | AED 80 | AED 80 |
| 7 to 8 hours | AED 100 | AED 100 |
| Over 8 hours | AED 200 | AED 200 |
Two zones stay free at all times: Zabeel and Fountain Views. You need an activated Salik tag and account to use the paid zones; if your balance is short, the fee waits as a pending transaction until you top up. Rental cars in Dubai carry Salik tags, so tourists pay exactly the same way, with the charge following the car. People of Determination can apply for a parking fee exemption through the Salik system.
The practical takeaway: most visits fit inside the free window, and the fees only bite on full-day stays. If you are staying long, park in Zabeel or Fountain Views and walk over.
Walking into the mall costs nothing. You pay only for the attractions inside: the aquarium, the Dubai Mall cinema, the ice rink, KidZania and VR Park all sell separate tickets.
The Dubai Mall aquarium, the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, sells three tiers online. Silver is AED 199 and covers the 48-metre tunnel, the Underwater Zoo, Penguin Cove and an AED 20 shop voucher. Gold is AED 269 and adds a glass-bottom boat ride and fish feeding. Platinum is AED 399 with skip-the-line access and a complimentary animal encounter. UAE residents pay AED 169 for Silver, a 4-for-3 Silver pass costs AED 597, and an aquarium plus Burj Khalifa combo is AED 279. Book online for a timed slot, because weekends sell out.

The Dubai Mall cinema is Reel Cinemas, a 26-screen multiplex on the second floor with standard and luxury screens. Check the Reel Cinemas website for current prices and showtimes before you go. The Olympic-sized ice rink, KidZania, VR Park, the Ekart Zabeel go-kart track and the Hysteria haunted house each sell their own tickets at their entrances and online.
A day at the mall can cost almost nothing or several hundred dirhams. It depends entirely on which attractions you pick, so here is the honest maths.
The free day: entry AED 0, parking AED 0 inside the free hours, the Dubai Dino skeleton and the Human Waterfall both free, and the fountain show free from the Waterfront Promenade. Add a food court lunch of about AED 50. Total for one: under AED 100.
The classic day: aquarium Silver AED 199, lunch AED 80, parking free within 4 hours. Total for one: about AED 280.
Family of four: the 4-for-3 aquarium Silver pass at AED 597, lunch about AED 200, parking free within the window. Total: about AED 800. UAE resident families pay less, since the resident Silver rate is AED 169 each.
Primark opened its first UAE store at the Dubai Mall on 26 March 2026, on the Lower Ground floor. It is the budget end of a mall famous for luxury, and that contrast is exactly why it draws crowds.
The store covers 60,000 square feet on a single floor with around 600 staff, selling womenswear, menswear, kidswear, footwear, beauty and homeware. Prices mirror the brand’s European roots: t-shirts from AED 9, jeans from AED 55, bags and shoes from AED 27, according to Time Out Dubai. It opened in partnership with the Alshaya Group, which has since added stores at City Centre Mirdif and Mall of the Emirates.
Why it matters for your visit: the Dubai Mall finally has a true budget anchor. If the Fashion Avenue prices make your eyes water, the Primark Dubai Mall store balances the day out. For the wider shopping picture, see our Dubai shopping guide.

Take the Red Line to the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station and follow the air-conditioned Metro Link Bridge straight into the mall. It is the simplest option, it runs with mall hours, and you skip the parking question entirely.
By taxi or ride-hailing, ask for the Dubai Mall main entrance; queues for return taxis build up on Thursday to Saturday evenings, so leave before 9pm or after 11pm if you can. Drivers get three paid zones (Grand, Cinema, Fashion) and two free ones (Zabeel, Fountain Views). If you are new to the city, our Dubai travel guide explains the metro, Nol cards and taxi fares in detail.
The mall is fully air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible and family friendly, with a few rules worth knowing before you go.
No pets are allowed except service animals, dress modestly, and smoking is not permitted inside the mall. Prayer rooms for men and women are signposted throughout, Wi-Fi is free everywhere, and wheelchairs are available free at Guest Services desks with an ID and a refundable retainer. Eight guest service desks handle questions and lost property.

Three tips that save real time: wear comfortable shoes, because the mall covers 1.1 million square metres. Come on weekday mornings for the quietest visit; Thursday to Saturday evenings are the busiest. And download the mall’s app before you arrive for indoor navigation and the car locator, which finds your vehicle in the giant car parks.
